Tropidelic
Walking through the sea of people between the two ‘main’ stages of Beachlife Festival, I stumbled across the Rip Tide stage and the amazing reggae filled hip hop sounds and I was immediately drawn in. Tropidelic hails from Cleveland, OH and has a sound that infuses reggae bass lines, funky brass horns and trombones and rhymes and lyrics of some good old fashioned hip hop.
Their vibrant, playful and super animated presence on stage is addicting; as soon as one song was over, I was eagerly awaiting the next, ready for the next rhymes and dance moves of the brass. Dan Kelly of Fortunate Youth joined them on stage for a couple of songs as well.
These guys seem to have a relentless touring schedule, seemingly on tour for the rest of year, there’s no reason to not check them out.
