David Ramirez - Portland Folk Festival

Coming from Austin, TX, David Ramirez brought his deep baritone vocals and melancholic lyrics to the stage on acoustic Sunday. Harkening to the heavy hearted likes of John Prine and Johnny Cash, Ramirez captivated with lyrics like, “Lay my tombstone on top of my grave, so I can always be between a rock and a hard place” had the crowd shushed and attentive.

Personal favorites included “Friends Forever” and “Eliza Jane” which included a heart warming story of his grandmothe playing the piano in a country band during her time in Oregon.
